How can I add users in the Staging and Production environment?

All subscription plans include a separate Identity Server for each environment, thus offer total freedom to manage your users individually for each one.

Development environment users

This group represents your development project team (Transformify Studio users) as they have already been assigned their project roles by you as Project Owner or Admin from the Portal.

Staging and Production environment users

These are your software solution's test end-users (not Studio users). Staging users usually are included in the testing activities to check if every aspect and functionality is in line with the specification and works as expected, before publishing it in the production environment, while Production ones are your real-time end-users.

There are two ways to add users:

  1. Go to the Identity module within Transformify Studio. First, create roles and then add users by assigning one or several roles to each user. The module automatically generates initial passwords for each new user. When releasing the developed project to staging, you can select which users you want to transfer also, which means that they can use their credentials (email and initial password created in the Studio) to log in to the solution in staging environment.
  2. Click and open the "Admin" tab from web application (i.e. released solution in the staging or production environment). Here, users with assigned admin role from the Studio, can log in and have complete control over user management in this environment: preview and manage created existing users (if transferred any from the Studio), directly add new external users, change password, unlock a user account, and execute many other enterprise features.

For more details on user management, read here.

How to enable end-users local registration and login into my solution in the Production environment?

Go to the Identity module within Transformify Studio and select Users. Under User options and select "Enable local login" and "Enable local register" for the production environment. Choose one or both options that best suits your needs for your existing end-users to have the option to directly login or new ones to register into the solution.

Additionally, you can enable third-party external identity provider, to allow your end-user to login to your solution with their social accounts.

This is your production Identity Server which has a separate database, different from the staging and development ones, thus allow independent user management.

Action containers

On the right-hand side, you can find the options to manage and control the uptime of your Web Application and production environment's dedicated Identity Server:

Domain

Click on Production environment from the left-hand menu, to add a custom domain to your project in the production environment. Set public domain name for your website which external end-users can see and access.

To change the generated Transformify domain name, click the button Add custom domain name and follow the steps into the wizard to finish the process.

Enter your domain name. Have in mind that the name length is limited to 60 characters. Click Next to continue with the process. The progress bar will show the completeness of this process.

To verify your domain ownership, you should create the displayed records in your DNS zone. Next, you should go forward and click the button Verify the ownership.
